The Fifth Graduation Ceremony of Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Wandongri, Nagpur after gaining the autonomous status was held at Shri Datta Meghe Auditorium, YCCE Campus, Nagpur on 9th February, 2019.

Shri Rajendra Nimbolkar, Retd. Lieutenant General, Indian Army, marked the presence as a Chief Guest on the occasion. Dr. G.S. Khadekar, Dean Faculty of Science & Technology, RTM Nagpur University was the Guest of Honor. Hon’ble Shri Dattaji Meghe, Chairman, Board of Management, YCCE presided over the function and other dignitaries were eminently present on the dias. The Graduation Ceremony covered passed out graduands of 7 UG programmes and 9 PG programmes of batch 2017-18.

YCCE, conferred 18 Gold, 7 Silver and 7 bronze medals and 4 citations to the graduate and post-graduate toppers of 2017-18 batch in the 5th Graduation ceremony on Saturday. During the ceremony Gold Medals, Silver Medals and Bronze Medals were awarded to the Topper students of UG and PG programmes based on their CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average). Also, Overall Toppers from B.E., M. Tech. batch, including Females Toppers, and most outstanding students were selected.

The Hon'ble Chief Guest joined the procession with ceremoniously, proceeded to the auditorium, lead by Dr. P. K. Dakhole, Registrar of the Institution, holding 'Rajdand' in his hand. All the dignitaries occupied their seats on the dais and the ceremonial 'Rajdand' was placed by Registrar, depicting the formal ceremonial beginning of the 5th Graduation ceremony.


On Republic Day, the Flag hoisting was done at the hands of Topper students of YCCE, Mr. Amol R. Wadhone, from the Department of Information Technology, who was accompanied by the top ranked students in previous semester of the college.  Hon’ble Shri Dattaji Meghe, Chairman, NYSS, was the Chief Guest and Dr. S.P. Untawale, CEO, MGI was the Guest of Honor on this occasion.  The other dignitaries present on the dais were Dr. U.P. Waghe, Principal, YCCE, Dr. P.K. Dakhole, Registrar, Dr. V.H. Tatwawadi, Principal, DBACER & Dr. Harshala Rajurkar, Principal, Datta Meghe Ayurvedic College & Research Centre and Administrative Officer, YCCE.  The teaching, non-teaching staff and students were felicitated for their academic and personal achievements at the hands of Chief Guest.

YCCE celebrated 72nd Independence day
YCCE celebrated 72nd Independence day with great patriotic fervor on 15th August, 2018. Hon’ble Shri Dattaji Meghe, Chiarman, NYSS, Nagpur was the Chief Guest and Dr. S.P. Untawale, CEO, MGI was the Guest of honour of the event. All Principals of Wanadongri campus attended the flag hoisting ceremony.

Flag Hoisting was held at the hands of topper students who have excelled in the academics. Dr. U.P. Waghe, Principal addressed the gathering and enlightened the various achievements by YCCE. Hon’ble Shri Dattaji Meghe shared his experience and motivated students and faculty.

On this occasion, significant achievers from amongst teaching and non-teaching staff were felicitated at the hands of Hon’ble Chairman.

Special Orientation Programme on Autonomy at YCCE
A Special Orientation Programme on Autonomy was organized at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering on 1st September 2018, for the parents of B.E. first year students admitted in the academic session 2018-2019. The Principal of YCCE, Dr. U.P. Waghe, welcomed the parents and informed them about the initiative and collaboration of the institution. The Dean (Academic Matters), Dr. A.V. Bapat explained the rules and regulation of Autonomy. Dr. Shaini Suraj, the Psychological Counselor of MGI helped parents to understand their wards and informed them how to fill the communication and generation gap between them. Prof. A B. The Induction Programme ‘AAROHAN’ 2018 was organized at Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, for the B.E. First Year Students admitted in the academic session 2018-2019 on Tuesday 21st August 2018. The Programme was graced by Hon’ble Shri. Datttaji Meghe, the Chairman, NYSS. He motivated students and asked them to enhance their skills. He felicitated the topper students of session 2017-18. The Principal of YCCE, Dr. U.P. Waghe, welcomed the students and briefed them about the initiative and collaboration of the institution. The Dean (Academic Matters), Dr. A.V. Bapat was also present for the occasion. Prof. Ajay B. Thatere, the B.E. first year Co-ordinator proposed the vote of thanks.
Department of Civil Engineering organized Inter College Technical Fest for Aspirants Assembling from various engineering colleges with a very high competitive spirit to participant and with the strong determination the department has organized ANTAHEEN-2018, with the same enthusiasm and determination among the new set of student coordinators, student volunteers and faculty coordinator during 16 – 18 August 2018. The fests are organized every year with the objective to provide platform for the students to showcase their talent with a competitive spirit. Total 400 registrations were done for two-day fest, which included all the events. The fest was executed with a total of 22 events planned and organized at its best of quality.
Model United Nations (MUN) 2019 held in YCCE
An International Conference, Model United Nations (MUN) 2018, a re-enactment of the United Nations, was organised in Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur on 23rd and 24th June, 2018. Nearly 800 delegates from all over the world with 10 committees, participated in this conference. The delegates got the chance to encounter the difficulties of world by assuming the role of the UN representative for an allocated nation. The conference was inaugurated at the hands of Dr. U. P. Waghe, Principal, YCCE on Saturday, 23/06/2018 and concluded on 24/06/2018. During the Valedictory programme, the best delegates were awarded with the cash prizes.
Department of Mechanical Engineering, YCCE organizes events that acknowledge technological innovations with accolades every year. Department of Mechanical Engineering in its continuous efforts to recognize excellence in areas of technology among its scholars organizes ‘Mechfiesta’ every year. Participants are invited form leading technological institutes. Awards are in the form of prize money and recognition.

This year Mechfiesta-2018 was organized on 16-17 August 2018 at YCCE, Campus. The fest was inaugurated by Dr. S.S. Chaudhari, Head, Mechanical Engineering and Mr. Sagar Maheshwari. Events like Lathe Beckon, Assembly Tycoon, Trusted War, Virohhana, Parabubling and CREO war was organized by the students which really help to judge the technical ability of the students. Technical Quiz and Debate competitions were organized to judge the inherent knowledge of the students.

Special event “Rocket war—the Wings of Fire” dedicated to Late President Dr. A.P.J.Kalam was the attraction of the event. “BIKE RALLY”- event was organized in association with Shreeji Automotive Nagpur.
ICON 18.0
Department of Electronics and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of YCCE jointly organized a mega event ICON 18.0 a National Level Technical Fest on 18 & 19 August 2018, which got huge success and witnessed 886 entries in two days for 12 different technical and semi technical events. The Techfest was inaugurated by Chief Guest Mr. Vaibhav Shimpi, Sr. Engineer - CAMO representative, Air India MRO, Nagpur.

This year T- ICON grabbed award for the Event of the ICON 18.0, and the Runner Up was compete to keil. The valedictory function was organized on 19 August 2018 where the prizes of worth rupees 50 thousand were distributed for all the winners of the different events.
Department of Electrical Engineering of YCCE organized an event “ELECTRRICA 18.0” under the Society of Future Electrical Engineers (SOFEE) and in association with Institution of Engineers (INDIA) on 18-19 August 2018. A two days event was further divided into 11 technical sub events and two workshops.

ELECTRRICA is the departmental Annual Technical Fest conducted by department of Electrical Engineering in YCCE every year. Total 11 purely technical events and two workshops were organized in fest. Overall 1200+ participants participated in the events.
Department of Computer Technology organized National Level Technical event “Compufest-2018k” under the banner of CTSC and ACMSC on 16-17 August 2018. Various domain specific technical events were organized for improving the technical skills of the student participants from various colleges like Government COE Nagpur, Ramdeobaba COEM Nagpur, G. H. Raisoni COE, St. Vincent Pallotti COE, Priyadarshini COE, S. B. Jain COE, KDKCOE. Various Technical Events organized are Pixellar, Kryptoz, Webspace, Build.AI, Get-Set-Code, Notions, Shutter-up, Photo-on etc. More than 250 students of various colleges participated in these events.
Department of Information Technology, YCCE, organized two days National Level Technical Fest “iTECHROOTS 9.0” during 16- 17 August-2018. The programme was approved by Computer Society of India (CSI), New Delhi. The Chief Guest of the program was Mr. Nitin Mahawadiwar, Enterprise Architect, Persistent System Ltd. Nagpur. Dr. Sachin P. Untawale, CEO, MGI, was the Guest of honor for the program. The various events conducted in “iTECHROOTS 9.0”, were “Webinar”, “Photoarena”, “Code Battle”, “Treasure Hunt”, “Web Coding”, “Quiz Mania”, “Chakravyuh”, “Game zone”. Around 1000 students from various technical & non-technical institutions participated in this Technical Fest. The programme was aimed to provide platform for the students to exhibit their talent in various technical and nontechnical events.
Alumni Meet
An Alumni Meet was organized by Department of Information Technology, YCCE on 11.08.2018. This meet was organized to give information about NBA, NAAC process, important role of alumni in the accreditation process and increased involvement of alumni to improve the department. Alumni from various batches from 2005 to 2017 were present for this meet. All Alumni shared their views and gave suggestion on various aspects. They gave feedback on curriculum provided by the institute and on infrastructural facilities.

Dr. Rajeev Srivastava, Professor & Head, Computer Science & Engineering Department, Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi (BHU), was invited as Visiting Professor under the Visiting Professor Scheme (VPS) of MGI, organized by the Department of Information Technology, YCCE, Nagpur. A series of lectures were scheduled on various topics of the area “Image Processing and Machine Learning” for the 3, 5, & 7 Sem. UG students, Ph.D. Scholars and the faculties of IT Department. The programme started on 24th Sept 2018 and concluded on 26th Sept 2018. Around 150 students, 10 Ph.D. Research Scholars and 14 faculties of the Department got benefited with the programme.

A Technical Interview Process was organized by Department of Information Technology, YCCE on 25/09/2018. Total 35 Students appeared for this Interview in order to get a 6 month Internship in Persistent Systems Limited. The Experts for Selecting the Students were from Persistent Systems Limited Mr. Amit Pande and Mr. Mazhar Khan, Team Lead PSL, Nagpur.
