STTPs/FDPs/Workshops

One-week STTP on “Quantitative Methods of Computer Applications”

Department of Information Technology organized One-week STTP on “Quantitative Methods of  Computer Applications” for students and faculties of various engineering college during 27th June – 1st July 2017. The STTP was coordinated by Dr. K. K. Bhoyar, Dr. U. H. Gawande, R& D Cell, YCCE and Department of IT, YCCE, Nagpur. The main speaker of the STTP were Dr. A. M. Pande, Dr. J. P. Giri, Dr. K. K. Bhoyar, Dr. S.P. Raut, Dr. S. S. Khedkar, Dr. M. M. Raghuwanshi, Ms. Y. K. Dubey, Mrs. A. D. Belsare and Dr. M. M. Mushrif from YCCE. The topics covered in the STTP were “How to write research paper”, “How to draft research proposal” and “Quantitative methods in various domains”. Around 32 faculties from various Departments of YCCE participated in the STTP. This STTP had also provided a platform for faculties to exchange views, ideas and the latest information of research topics in various thrust areas, trends and technology.

One-week ACM approved STTP on “Advanced Trends and Technologies in Computer Networks (ATTCN)”.

Department of Information Technology organized the One-week STTP on “Advanced Trends and Technologies in Computer Networks (ATTCN)” during 17th – 22nd April 2017. The programme was approved by ACM, Nagpur Chapter. The convener of the STTP was the Head of Information Technology Dr. Ujwalla Gawande and Dr. Kishor Bhoyar, Professor, IT Dept. and Vice Chair, ACM, Nagpur Chapter. The STTP was coordinated by Prof. Manish Hadap and Prof. Sachin Jain. The resource person for the programme were Dr. Harold D'Costa, Director, Intelligent Quotient Security, Pune, Mr. Anshul Rathod, Partner Account Manager, Microsoft Corporation, Pune, Mr. Raj Arora, Sr. Network Engineer, Revat Network Academy, Nagpur and Vinit Kapoor, Tech Architecture, Persistent System, Nagpur and Secretory, ACM, Nagpur Chapter. The programme concluded with awarding of certificates to participants Dr. U. P. Waghe, Principal, YCCE congratulate the team for the great success of this event.   

 

One-week ISTE approved STTP on “Exposure to research areas in the field of Natural Language Processing”.

Department epartment of Information Technology organized the ISTE approved One-week STTP on “Exposure to research areas in the field of Natural Language Processing” during 14th – 19th Nov. 2016. The STTP was coordinated by Dr. U. H. Gawande, Prof. Swati Kale, Prof. A. Gaikwad. The technical and practical sessions were taken by Dr. U. A. Deshpande, Dr. Garaje, Dr. U. Shrawankar, Dr. Avinash Agarwal, Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, Prof. R. Fadnavis, Prof. S. Kale, Prof. N. Wankhade. This STTP includes technical sessions on Basics of NLP, Machine Translation and Practical session on NLP using JAVA and Python. This STTP had also provided a platform to exchange views, ideas and the latest information of different NLP concepts.    

 

One-week FDP on “Machine Learning using R” in association with ACM

The Department of Information Technology has organized one-week Faculty Development Programme on “Machine Learning using R” from 4th to 9th January 2016. The programme was organized in association with ACM, Nagpur Chapter. The Convener of the STTP was the Dr. Kishor. K. Bhoyar and the Co-convener was the Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, HOD, IT Department, YCCE, Nagpur. The FDP was coordinated by Prof. Rupa. A. Fadnavis. Eminent speakers from VNIT, Nagpur: Dr. P. S. Deshpande, Dr. U. A. Deshpande, Dr. M. M. Dhabu, Dr. M. Kurhekar, and from YCCE: Dr.M. M. Raghuwanshi, Dr. K. K. Bhoyar,  Prof. R. A. Fadnavis, Prof, S. W. Shende, Prof. P.A. Deshkar and Dr. Rahila Patel from RGCOE, Chandrapur delivered the lectures. Hands-on sessions were conducted by Prof. S. G. Kale,YCCE and from VNIT: Ms. Swati Hira, Ms. Rimzim Singh. The programme was attended by Faculty members and M.Tech. students of various engineering colleges all over the Maharashtra. This programme aimed at studying the design and development of Machine learning techniques using ‘R’ software. The six day workshop includes lecture, sessions and hands-on practice. This FDP had also provided a platform to exchange views, ideas and the latest information in Machine Learning. The main objective of this FDP was knowledge up gradation of teachers, so that the same can be used in teaching, projects, and research. The programme concluded with awarding of certificates to Participants by the hands of Dr. R. S. Holambe, Professor, SGGSIE&T, Nanded.

One-week ISTE approved STTP on “Wavelets and its Applications”

Department of Information Technology organized ISTE approved one-week Short Term Training Programme on “Wavelets and its Applications” during 26th April to 4th May 2016. The Convener of the STTP was the Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, HOD, IT Department. The STTP was coordinated by Prof. Nisha Wankhade. Team members were Prof. Manish Hadap, Prof. B. U. Bawankar, Prof. Priyanka Jaiswal. The eminent speaker of this training program was Dr. Manesh B. Kokare, Ph.D. (IIT Kharagpur). BOYSCAST Post. Doctoral Fellow (University of California Santa Barbara, USA. Currently working as Associate Professor, SGGSIE&T. The objective of the workshop was to give an exposure to the fundamental concepts of wavelets and its applications. The six-day workshop includes lecture, sessions and hands-on practice. This STTP had also provided a platform to exchange views, ideas and the latest information in Wavelets. The motivation behind this STTP was knowledge up gradation of teachers, so that the same can be used in teaching, projects, and research.

 

One Day FDP on “Internet of things & its Application” in Multidisciplinary Domains”

Department of Information Technology organized One Day Faculty Development Program on “Internet of Things & its Applications in Multi-Disciplinary Domains” for teaching faculties of YCCE, on 5th August 2017. Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, HOD, IT was the convener of the FDP and the program was coordinated by Prof. Sachin R. Jain, Assistant Professor, IT Dept. The expert for the FDP was Mr. Nilesh Sahare, Director, ANV Infotech Pvt. Ltd., Joint Director, iRoot Softech Pvt. Ltd., Founder of IomaTic, Nagpur. The main aim of the FDP was to make aware all the faculties about the importance of IoT, Basic overview of IoT, Importance of IoT in the view of student’s projects, Applications of IoT for multi-disciplinary stream students, IoT Software & Hardware platforms, Challenges and Opportunities in IoT. Around 30 faculties from various departments of YCCE participated in the FDP.

Two days FDP on “Cloud Computing” in association with TCS

Department of Information Technology organized two days Faculty Development Program on “Cloud Computing” during 29th to 30th October 2015 in Association with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The FDP was coordinated by Prof. Shailendra Shende, Prof. Sushil Chavhan, Assistant Professor, IT Dept. The resource persons were Mr. Suraj Bhatnagar, Project Manager, TCS, Lucknow, Mr. Ajay Yawalkar, Group Leader, TCS, Nagpur, Mr. Sanjay Thakre, IT Analyst, TCS, Nagpur and Mr. Prateek Nema, Assistant System Engineer, TCS, Nagpur.

One Day workshop on “MATLAB for IoT and Data Analytics - Technology Development”

Department of Information Technology organized workshop on “MATLAB for IoT and Data Analytics–Technology Development” for final year students & faculties of Information Technology Department, on 23rd July 2017. Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, HOD, IT was the convener of the workshop and the program was coordinated by Prof. Manish K. Hadap Asst. Prof., IT Dept. and Co-coordinated by Prof. Sachin R. Jain, Asst. Prof. IT Dept. The expert for the workshop was Ms. Alka Nair from MathWorks (MATLAB). The main aim of the workshop was to make aware all the students of final year, IT Dept. & faculties about the importance of IoT, and how MATLAB provides a platform to develop IoT based systems. Around 30 students and 10 faculties from IT department, participated in the workshop.

Induction Program for 2nd Year student

Department of Information Technology organized “Induction Program” for 3rd semester students on 8th July 2017. The main speaker of the program was Dr. Sumant Tekade, Head, MBA Department S. B. Jain college of Engg. and Freelancer trainer of personality development, formerly associated with WIPRO Technologies, Banglore as a HR. Dr. K. K. Bhoyar, Professor IT Dept. Dr. U. H. Gawande, HOD, IT Dept. and Prof. R. A. Fadnavis, Assistant Professor, IT Dept. The Program begins with session on “A Walk-through IT Department”, delivered by Dr. U. H. Gawande. The next session was delivered by Dr. K. K. Bhoyar on “How to Improve your IT Skills” followed by the session on “Introduction and Overview on POs and PEOs” by Prof. R. A. Fadnavis. Next Dr. Sumant Tekade deliver a talk on “Ceasing Excellence - The Shivajian Way”, how Chatrapati Shivaji Raje analyzed the situations and act accordingly this was the need of an hour and he motivate the students to focus on their IT Currier, which got the standing ovation from the crowd. Ms. Nisha R. Wankhade, Assistant Prof., & class teacher of 3rd semester IT concluded the session by expressing her gratitude to the guest and faculty members of the department and acknowledged the support of Management and Principal

Two Days workshop on “MySQL and JavaScript”

Department of Information Technology organized two days’ workshop on “MySQL and JavaScript” on 26th and 28th August 2017. The workshop was coordinated by Prof. Sushil Chavhan. This workshop was organized for 2nd year UG students. The two-day workshop includes technical sessions on basics of MySQL and JavaScript programming and hands on session on MySQL database. This workshop had also provided a platform for students to exchange views, ideas and the latest information of different web development languages.

Internship Drives for B. E. Final Year students of IT Dept.


The Department of Information Technology, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering, Nagpur has organized Internship Drives for B. E. Final Year students in the month of April & May 2017, for the academic session 2017-18. The companies visiting the campus includes TCS, Infocept Pvt. Ltd, All India Reporter Pvt. Ltd, Lemon Ideas, SAP Control System and Engineers Pvt. Ltd, Nertia NFLM Pvt. Ltd, Bushel Technologies Pvt. Ltd. etc. We serve all our students to all visited companies, and asked them to choose as per there requirements. The companies shortlisted the students based on an aptitude and Programing test with mental ability test. The shortlisted students were then interviewed by respective companies. The Department of Information Technology and Training & Placement, Yeshwantwaro Chavan College of Engineering organized a one day Industrial visit to Persistent Systems Ltd. (India) Parsodi, Nagpur, 23rd of September 2017 for 3rd Year Students of Information Technology students. Visit was organized by Mr. S. S. Chavhan, with the prior permission and guidance of Principal Dr. U. P. Waghe. It was supported by Dr. U. H. Gawande, HOD, IT and Training and Placement officer Mr. N. S. Wakhare.

Industrial visit to “Global Logic India Pvt. Ltd”

Students of information Technology Department, YCCE had visited GlobalLogic India Pvt. Ltd, Mihan Nagpur on 5th October 2016 with 3 faculty members namely, Mr. R. C. Dharmik, Ms. N. R. Wankhade, and Mr. S. S. Chavhan.The visit was a part of their industrial visit program which the college had arranged who were seeking specialization in Information Technology. The students were welcomed by Ms. GagandeepKour Head People Development(HR) and Ms. Ojita Mishra, Member People Development (HR), GlobalLogic India Pvt. Ltd at conference hall of Company.Under the guidance of Mr. Sanjay Gawande, Dy. Manager - Employee Services at GlobalLogic, we visited various facility centers, labs, Server room and cabin area of Employee’s. During the guidance he answered various questions asked by students.

Research Laboratory visit at “Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Centre(M.R.S.A.C.)

The Department of Information Technology, Yeshwantrao Chavan College of Engineering organized Research lab visit to Maharashtra Remote Sensing Application Centre (M.R.S.A.C) Nagpur, on 28th December 2016 for Third Year Students of   Information Technology Department. This visit was coordinated by Mr. S. S. Chavhan. It was supported by Dr. U. H. Gawande and Departmental teaching staff Members Mrs. R. A. Fadanvis, Mrs. S.G. Kale. Total 64 students from Third year IT and 3 Faculty Members has visited the Research Lab. The students got benefited in terms of the technical details provided by the M.R.S.A.C on an important part of Project selection and development of various applications. The students were welcomed by Dr. Sanjay Apturkar Associate Scientist at (M.R.S.A.C) at conference hall of M.R.S.A.C. Dr. Sanjay Apturkar conducted the seminar session for about 2 hour 30 min which covered National Wetland Inventory and Assessment, National Land Use Land Cover Mapping Using Multi-Temporal Satellite Data For Year 2005, Digitization and Geo-referencing of Village-wise Soil Maps in GIS Environment, Application of Remote Sensing and GIS in Sericulture, Road Information System (RIS),etc.

Blood Donation Camp in Association with Aayush Blood Bank

Department of Information Technology organized Blood Donation Camp under the banner of AURA (a social forum for students) on 7th July, 2017 in association with Ayush Blood Bank, Nagpur. The venue for the camp was ground floor, Information Technology Department, YCCE, Nagpur. It received an overwhelming response and around 350 students and faculties from various institutions across the city participated willingly for the same. Despite the ineligibility of huge participants, we made it to 172 successful blood donations. The event started at 09:00am in the morning and was inaugurated by HoD, IT Department, Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, by cutting the ceremonial ribbon. The event was coordinated by Prof. Sachin R. Jain, Asst. Prof. IT Department. The Blood Donation Camp concluded at 06:00pm in the evening with full of enthusiasm and zeal.

Womens Day Programme on “8th March 2017”

The Department of Information Technology has organized “Women’s day program” for all the girl students of YCCE and the Ladies staff members on 8th March 2017 in SDMP Auditorium. The main speakers of the program were Dr. Shantala Bhole, MBBS, DGO and Gynecologist, Nagpur, Dr. Rohini Patil, Obstetrician & Gynecologist (MBBS, MD), Nagpur and Mrs. Vaishali Kelkar. The programme begins with inauguration and welcoming the guests. This was followed by seminar on “Common Health Problems in Girls and Basic Health Education”, by Dr. Shantala Bhole in association with Udaan. The next session was delivered by Ms. Vaishali Kelkar, to make girl students aware about “Sexual Harassment” in association TBSVS NGO. This was very critical issue in current scenario. This was again followed by the session on “Cervical Cancer” by Dr. Rohini Patil in association with Shehanchal NGO. This was also very fast growing and serious issue against women’s health. The programme ends with the skit presented by students of Information Technology Department, YCCE. The theme was “Save Girl Child”, which got the standing ovation from the crowd. Dr. Ujwalla Gawande, HOD IT was the main organizer of the programme and she proposed a vote of Thanks. She acknowledged the support of Management, Principal sir Dr. U.P.Waghe and the hard work of her students and faculty team to make this event a grant success. She also expresses gratitude and appreciation to all the Guests for their guidance and encouragement and for raising this occasion with their presence. Lastly she thank the all girl students of YCCE, who have attended this program that were around 1000 in number and then she quote a line “The willingness to listen, the patience to understand,
